The Petrodvorets Watch Factory "Raketa" is famous all over the world for special watches with 24-hour dials.
The Polar model was designed for Soviet polar explorers.
Following a 1969 Soviet State order, a special Raketa with 24-hour dial was made for those who were braving long polar nights and extremely low temperatures.
The Polar watch was exclusively distributed on special order and was therefore not available to the public. By the mid-70′s, watches for submariners and cosmonauts were created on the basis of this particular model. The Polar watch only became available to the public after the perestroika.
"Raketa Polar" is equipped by the movement "Raketa-Avtomat" or the movement "Raketa-2623 H"
The Petrodvorets Watch Factory "Raketa", Russia's oldest factory, was founded by Peter the Great in 1721. The factory is producing watches under the brand "Pobeda" since the end of World War II. In 1961, the brand "Raketa" was launched in honor of Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
The Petrodvorets Watch Factory "Raketa" is one of the rare watch factories in the world that fully manufactures its own movements from A to Z including hair spring and escapement.
